My role as the Sustainability intern includes supporting the Musgrave Own Brand in food development. Key responsibilities include market reviews, product development research, product sampling sessions, legislation review, and monitoring sustainability trends. Actively track Own Brand progress, review packaging specifications, and collaborate with the team on development and sustainability projects. Focused on learning hands-on approaches to NPD, food innovation and sustainability while driving positive change.
Assisted in packaging and preparing online orders for Follain's range of products. Gained valuable insight into business operations within Irish food SMEs. Built strong trust and rapport with supervisors, leading to increased responsibilities.
Worked in a fast-paced cafe kitchen along the Waterford Greenway. Prepared and served fresh, high-quality dishes, including salads, sandwiches, and hot meals. Managed my section efficiently while supporting other areas as needed. Developed skills in teamwork, time management, and kitchen operations.
This role included entering invoices to the accounts system and bank reconciliation, which developed over time to supervising and training new staff members. This role also involved project management, in which my key responsibilities were organisation, planning, and facilitating meetings for the transition of company operations between varying software.
