While I valued the experience, I realize my strengths and interests are better aligned with client-facing and revenue-driven roles. I used this transition period to clarify my career direction while working an operations and customer service role at JC Jewelers.
lab management: constructing/revising chemical and resource inventory, updating and changing any out dated lab protocol, organizing all lab areas for efficient work. animal work: maintaining animal housing conditions proficient to university guidelines, collecting samples for long-term storage or processing (fecal, urine and blood samples), if required for tissue collection, following the euthanasia protocol for the animal. in-lab work: perform weekly assays on the collected samples for protein estimation i.e. direct ELISA, bacteria innoculation, electropherisis, DNA/RNA extraction using mini-prep, transfection/transformation of mammalian and bacterial cells, immunopercipitation on transfected mammalian cells, maintained/retained stock of frequently used buffers and antibodies,SDS-PAGE, western blots for immunoblotting, optimized protein assay for equalizing protein. technical responsibilities: kept a log of everyday experiments in designated lab journal, made protocols for each experiment that is attempted and optimized and presented weekly processed data to PI for updates and further plans regarding the project.
