Deliver consular assistance in line with policy including visits to Indian nationals in hospital or prison, and assistance in cases involving bereavement, child welfare, sexual assault or mental health issues. Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities (e.g. police, prison service, immigration, hospitals, child services, etc), NGOs and other diplomatic missions. Support the Emergency Travel Document Centre by printing Emergency Certificate and managing collections. Manage the online appointment booking system and maintain accurate records in consular case management systems. Collaborate with colleagues across the Balkans and Eastern Adriatic Consular Network to share best practice and ensure operational resilience. Provide out of hours assistance to (rare) emergency consular cases as appropriate. Act as cover for the Vice-Consul during absences. Notarial and document services Prepare and issue notarial and document services for Indian nationals in accordance with policy. To take fees and be responsible for cashier duties. Crisis preparedness and response Contribute to Embassy crisis planning and response, including crisis exercises and potential deployment to affected areas. Essential qualifications, skills and experience Full professional proficiency in Romanian and English (written and spoken, minimum of C1 level) Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills, with the ability to show empathy and remain calm under pressure.
