I build tools that make developers more productive. Right now, I help build Strands Agents SDK at AWS, a model-driven framework for building agentic AI applications. My career has followed the evolution of developer infrastructure: configuration management (Puppet) → serverless (Stackery, AWS SAM/CDK) → AI-native development. I guess I have a passion for helping teams manage complexity at scale through better abstractions and automation. At Puppet, the company grew from ~30 to 600 people and $0 to $100M ARR while I led Puppet Enterprise and the Puppet Forge ecosystem, tools that enabled Fortune 100 companies to automate millions of machines. At Stackery and AWS, the focus shifted to serverless and infrastructure-as-code tools that let developers ship faster with less operational overhead. My background as a Linux sysadmin still shapes how I think: developer experience matters, reliability isn't optional, and good tools respect what happens at 2am when something breaks.
I lead product management for Strands Agents, a model driven approach to agentic AI
I lead a team of product managers who provide foundational tools and services for developers building generative AI applications. These range from common libraries to build responsible AI applications to the externally facing infrastructure as code tools (e.g. AWS CDK) that developers use to define and manage their production applications.
I lead product management for serverless developer tools at AWS, including the Serverless Application Model and Application Composer. This was a small PM team with outsized impact on large organizations who use infrastructure as code to define and manage their applications powered by managed services on AWS.
Stackery is a workflow-driven platform-as-a-service for serverless development and delivery. I lead a team of engineers who focus on helping serverless developers adopt a successful workflow and expand that success into teams within companies ranging from small startups to large enterprises.
- Led product managers and UX designers in driving the strategic direction and expansion of Puppet Enterprise and the Puppet Forge ecosystem, significantly contributing to the company's growth with a milestone of $100 million in annual recurring revenue. - Collaborated with internal stakeholders and customer advisory boards to develop a comprehensive strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with market needs and corporate objectives. - Drove product innovation and market differentiation with the launch of strategic new features for Puppet, including Puppet Bolt, an innovative imperative task orchestration tool.
Served as senior product manager for Puppet Forge, a platform for community-driven automation content for Puppet's datacenter automation solution. - Owned the strategic evolution of Puppet Forge, growing the platform's module content from tens to thousands, driven by a global open-source community. - Secured Puppet’s role in Fortune 100 companies’ data centers by ensuring high-quality automation content existed for every enterprise use case, facilitating complex infrastructure management at scale. - Curated a robust open-source community, fostering collaboration and contribution by implementing engagement strategies, support mechanisms, and incentives that enhanced content quality and diversity.
- Owned the planning and execution of Puppet Enterprise deployments in enterprise data center environments, working closely with customers to ensure seamless integration and optimization of Puppet's automation solutions. - Taught both private and public hands-on training classes for system administrators, enhancing their proficiency with Puppet's automation tools and best practices. - Developed and launched "Puppet Fundamentals," a next-generation course that became a cornerstone of Puppet's educational offerings.
I enabled students, faculty and staff to do more with technology by providing core academic IT services for the University.
Managed all desktop infrastructure for an administrative unit. Included managing Windows & Mac desktops, supporting hardware and Linux-based servers providing various services.
