With over 20 years of experience across a wide range of disciplines, I excel in leading and motivating teams of all sizes within the product space, while effectively collaborating cross-functionally with designers, developers and business leaders. I have continuously pushed the boundaries of innovation by delivering product strategies, intuitive experiences and customer- centric solutions that drive change, resulting in more than 22 issued patents (45 pending approval) and 100 products to date. Running product, development, design, research, and QA for several areas of the Selling Partners experience at Amazon. This includes the entire Seller Mobile experience. Also leading the overall design and research orgs for all Amazon Marketplaces web entities. This role includes leading the internal developer experiences for building for the Seller Experience (e.g., platform initiatives, performance metrics, globalization, builder tools, component library, and design system).
Oversee all eBay Mobile product lines for emerging markets, enthusiast categories and global initiatives. Lead the mobile innovation team, focusing on zero-effort commerce that includes wearables, predictive modeling, chat commerce, and image technologies. Drive several key partnerships (Tencent, Jawbone, Samsung, etc.) to enable rapid prototyping and customer testing while being budget and resource conscious. Responsible for defining product goals, design details, implementation methods, roadmaps, strategies and accompanying metrics to ensure success. Spearhead high-level mobile corporate strategy (incl. PayPal, StubHub, etc.), as well as eBay marketplaces-specific strategy. Manage the creation and implementation of an automated system for rapid ideation and vetting of innovative ideas for the whole organization, which included over 50 concepts conceived in less than 1year. Considered one of the top patent-filers in all of eBay with 22 patents issued and over 45 pending (see information below). KEY PROJECT ASSESSMENT: Zero Effort Commerce – Focused on defining the future of commerce – in which the customer doesn’t find the product, the product finds the customer – built and incorporated numerous products into our main business to test the limits of new technology. The projects included driving a key partnership with TenCent to deliver a chat commerce product using WeChat and WePay, developing the first wearables team at eBay that resulted in transactional applications (Samsung/Tizen, Android Wear and Apple), and creating a Home & Garden experience that recognizes products from different room scenes. We also built apps and experiences around reordering products, customized 3D printed products and augmented reality. Most recently, I drove cutting-edge hardware work that included several high-level partnerships and was one of eBay's first forays into hardware innovation.
Focused on entry into new global markets through mobile innovation, launched numerous ventures across the BRICS and SEA. Drove strategy and innovation in local markets by exploring new business concepts (local, 3d printing, augmented reality, etc). Responsible for global production and oversight of two of eBay’s most popular vertical apps: motors and fashion. Awarded ‘Best Fashion and Shopping App’ (Appy Awards 2012) and ‘Best Use of a Device Camera’ (Webby Awards 2012 - honoree). KEY PROJECT ASSESSMENT: Enthusiast Applications and Emerging Markets – With a focus on the enthusiast and global markets, I built a team that was tasked with delivering innovative product experiences. We continuously pushed the boundaries of our applications, delivering experiences such as utilizing your camera to try on new glasses using A/R, identifying your cars parts using VIN code scanning, pricing your car using a picture of it from any angle, and matching eBay inventory to the outfit you were currently wearing. The work has resulted in apps consistently rating over 4 stars in both Apple and Android marketplaces, while generating nearly $100M in new revenue for eBay. Additionally, the team led the strategy and complete creation of 8 localized (LatAM and Russia) iOS and Android mobile apps. The EM apps achieved Top 10 app store rankings for several months with the RU Fashion app being declared best fashion shopping experience by Vogue magazine.
Responsible for overseeing eBay’s global mobile product offerings, which included all major eBay brands and specialized vertical/innovation applications. Led numerous acquisitions (Red Laser, CPS), building the product and design organizations across locations. Grew eBay Mobile sales from $90 million to well over $13 billion. KEY PROJECT ASSESSMENT: eBay Mobile Application – From 2008 to 2012, my roles continually expanded from being the sole product contributor for mobile to running all of the PM, PD, and design teams for eBay mobile global applications. I rapidly hired and managed a world-class team that delivered the iPhone, iPad, RIM, Android and Windows applications, resulting in numerous awards and well over 30 million downloads. Under my product leadership and direction, the business grew from $90M in 2008 to over $13B in 2012, expanding into several global markets and becoming the benchmark for mobile commerce. I then helped integrate mobile into the core business for continued growth and success.
Worked with 12seconds.tv on product ideas and direction, resulting in the first short-form video play for the web and then iOS. Runner up for TechCrunch's Best Bootstrapped Startup 2008.
Managed a team of 5 (4 developers, 1 UI designer) employees in establishing the company’s web unit. Developed numerous sites (mytradein.com, embark.com), while conducting client presentations around technology implementation, site speed and user experience. Focused on large sites outlined and templated by the team, while outsourcing certain aspects of page development. Developed P3M’s first intranet for client usage, which included asset workflow and sharing.
