I'm an outcomes-oriented, entrepreneurial, collaborative, apolitical marketing leader with executive experience across application, platform, infrastructure, and services. I'm obsessed with how technology and data create opportunity, foster innovation, and promote competitive advantage for businesses. Keywords: curiosity, listening, substance, integrity. I specialize in product marketing, focused on business strategy, segmentation, category creation, go-to-market, and growth based on deep customer insight. I emphasize market relevance above all else, from positioning to messaging, customer and product journeys to sales enablement, and product launches to pricing and packaging. I have built and led marketing teams at five startups, all of which became unicorns, one of which was a $5B+ publicly traded company, and one of which had a $1B+ exit. I have managed marketing teams as large as 25 and distributed across five countries. My experience runs deep in most marketing functional areas, and I like to balance player and coaching duties to integrate across the full stack of product marketing, demand generation, marketing operations, customer marketing, communications, content marketing, sales development, events, and field marketing. There's nothing I love more than putting together a strategy and executing thoughtful, creative solutions to challenging business problems, whether for large enterprises or SMBs. Tactical delivery and metrics-based evaluation are what make building the plan and leading the team fun for me. I have subject matter expertise in cloud, analytics, SaaS, product-led growth PLG, artificial intelligence AI, machine learning ML, Big Data, DevOps, developer tools, mobile, monitoring and observability, productivity tools, microservices, financial services, education, adtech, and open source software. I'm a Kellogg MBA with 20 years of international experience in the Americas, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Europe. My career started in international development NGOs, I dabble in music journalism — previously writing for Pitchfork.com (acquired by Conde Nast) — and I started and ran a profitable social network for music lovers with more than 1,300 members in 30 countries. I'm always open to a new professional adventure!
Notable clients have included Kong, Algolia, Motive (KeepTruckin), SoundCloud, Mixpanel, Apollo GraphQL, Speedata, and FOSSA, among many others. I work with high-growth startups to focus their marketing on monetization and business objectives. In addition to advising on go-to-market strategy, planning, messaging, positioning, pricing, budgeting, and hiring, I have consulted on product launches, press and analyst programs, and growth campaigns with a heavy emphasis on prioritizing the right audiences to drive both adoption and revenue outcomes. I offer deep expertise in product marketing, integrated effectively with customer advocacy, sales enablement, marketing operations and analytics, content strategy, demand generation, events, and press/analyst communications.
Launched IPO process in 2026 at over $XXB expected market valuation. I was Moloco’s first full-time marketing leader, building a global team across nine offices and establishing and scaling the company’s product marketing, digital marketing, corporate marketing, field marketing, and brand marketing functions as a fully integrated business organization. • Reframed marketing function to align to revenue goals, hiring and managing a team of 25 across six time zones • Helped grow ARR 85% year-over-year to $250M on more than $1B in gross customer ad spend • Retrenched corporate positioning and messaging around machine learning and performance marketing for separate persona audiences at different stages of the journey • Drove product and corporate differentiation, including a full website rewrite, first product positioning focused on performance marketing outcomes, and first sales enablement focused on objection-handling and trap-setting • Launched new Retail Media and Performance Ad Server product lines to new market segments, generating $3.75M ARR among net-new customers in first year of availability • Landed Moloco's first customer and partner references, including DraftKings, Bumble, Playrix, Discord, and AppsFlyer • Scaled marketing contribution to revenue growth, ensuring a planned 5x budget increase would maintain net profitability
Raised Series F in 2021 at $2.6B valuation. I overhauled Pendo's product marketing function, building a team in the Raleigh office while serving as office lead for the San Francisco office. Partnered with PM, Product Operations, and Data Science to model and introduce product-led growth to the platform. Worked closely with Customer Marketing and Revenue Marketing to both align the corporate value proposition to use cases and reference case studies, as well as build the first acquisition and expansion campaigns in Pendo's history focused on product-oriented business outcomes. • Completely revamped GTM in close partnership with Product Management and Sales to execute product launches with full timeline, deliverables, owners, and enablement • Re-packaged, re-branded, and re-launched year-old white-label Adopt B2E product line, scaling ARR 12x • Went from $0 to more than doubling pipeline and revenue goals in six months for new Feedback product line • Hired team of four PMMs covering products, solutions, pricing, sales training, and competitive differentiation • Re-wrote all product and feature positioning and top-line messaging three times: first as part of a website overhaul, then to appeal to an enterprise buyer, and finally to create urgency during the downturn • Created new sales pitches and solution selling frameworks to increase competitive focus across five vendor categories, improving overall win/loss rate by 20% • Installed a PMM in the Sales Enablement team to shift new-hire onboarding and SKO focus to market, customer, and solution insights and segment- and vertical-specific value selling • Oversaw complete pricing update, including partnering with market research firm to conduct multivariate pricing survey, resulting in first segmented packaging (decoupling Enterprise-sized use cases from transactional deals), increased LTV, and improved cross-sell into mobile, CX, etc.
Raised Series E in 2022 at $3B valuation. I built Sentry’s marketing function, extending core brand with a structured growth and conversion strategy. Prioritized self-service inbound and the product-led growth funnel through a voice-of-the-developer content engine and a multi-channel approach to technical education, including partners, how-to videos, and award-winning meetup. Presented strategy, plans, metrics to the Board. • Drove 3.5x ARR growth, primarily from net-new self-serve PLG user acquisition • Built marketing function from scratch: hired team of five, prioritizing technical content, user acquisition, developer evangelism, video production, and events • Implemented lead scoring and qualification to deliver 2,500 MQLs/month from 250% increase in website traffic; nearly 100% of Enterprise Sales pipeline originated from inbound signups • Launched first user onboarding and nurture campaigns, increasing conversion rate to active by 15% and trial signup rate by 25% • Implemented marketing operations and analytics systems (with extremely limited runway for tooling), including HubSpot, Drift, and Amplitude, and worked with Eng and SalesOps to develop workflows for lead funnel and flow • Executed first launches for new features and products, including media coverage, microsite, and partner campaigns for Sentry9 • Revamped pricing and packaging from pay-as-you-go to tiered, resulting in first six-figure deals • Owned all security, privacy, and compliance processes and messaging related to contact consent, including GDPR • Scaled partner marketing GTM with Microsoft, Atlassian, GitHub, and Slack • Produced voice-of-the-developer programs featuring how-to videos and case studies with Reddit, PayPal, DoorDash, Optimizely, Datadog, Atlassian, AdRoll, New York Times, more • Managed all corporate communications, resulting in inclusion in the Forbes Cloud 100 Rising Stars, CB Insights Future Unicorns, and BI Enterprise Startups to Bet Your Career On lists
