The Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange (SEEE) is China's first environmental and energy trading platform, established on August 5, 2008, with approval from the Shanghai Municipal Government. It serves as the designated trading platform for Shanghai's carbon market, a national platform for Certified Emission Reduction (CCER) trading, and the operator of China's national carbon emission trading system under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. SEEE focuses on carbon emission trading, carbon reduction trading, and carbon financial products, aiming to create a comprehensive, market-driven mechanism for environmental and energy-related transactions. It has become the largest carbon trading platform in China, with significant contributions to carbon market development, carbon management, and green finance. The exchange also provides services such as consultancy, project design, and technical support to promote energy conservation and emission reduction. CHIC is under supervision and guidance by NEA. CHIC's routine business includes hydrogen exhibition center, R&D center and hydrogen big data platform, hydrogen premium training center and etc. CHIC cooperates with UNDP for the hydrogen professional training scheme.
