I have experience in a wide range of industries providing service in the areas of audit, tax, and advisory. My background includes extensive work with owner managed businesses. My primary focus areas have been working with small to medium sized businesses in construction, manufacturing, hospitality and professional services, as well as contract services to other professional accountants in specialty areas including audit, valuation and engagement quality monitoring. In addition I have also specialized in the area of business valuation where I have prepared valuations of businesses for use in succession planning and acquisition as well as the division of marital assets, as well as performance of due diligence procedures to bring transactions to a close.
I take an active interest in knowing my client’s business, both the successes and struggles, and bring practical, realistic solutions to help improve both the financial and operational results. Growing and finding success while my clients find success is always the goal, and what keeps us all moving forward. In addition I provide complete accounting services including compilations, reviews and audits of financial statement along with full tax preparation for individuals, corporations and trusts.
In the role of Audit Principal, I was responsible for overseeing the performance of the Audit and Financial Services Divisions. These divisions provided year end financial statement preparation and assurance services, including audit, review and compilation engagements, in addition to business advisory services, such as internal control reviews, financial projections and business valuation services.
BCCA was a medium sized, Winnipeg based, firm of Chartered Accountants providing a wide variety of accounting and assurance services. I started with BCCA as a summer student in 2001 while completing my University degree. At the time of my departure I was responsible for oversight of the assurance and litigation support services provided by the firm.
