Montpelier, Virginia, United States
After graduating from Virginia Tech in 2008 I began my professional career at Surry Power Station, a Nuclear facility, located in Surry, VA. I was a systems engineer with a focus in reliable operation of numerous power systems applications in the plant. This included emergency DC, 480 volt motor control power, uninterruptible power supplies, 120 volt power, communications, and heat tracing. To ensure the continued reliability and functionality of my systems I utilized skills such as causal analysis, preventative maintenance evaluations, engineering technical evaluations, and system health reports. In January 2016 I moved into the Corporate Nuclear Design Engineering group located at the Innsbrook Technical Center in Glen Allen, VA to continue to expand my knowledge and support for Dominion Nuclear Generation. In my role I was the responsible design analysis engineer for large electrical projects to be implemented at the Nuclear sites owned by Dominion. I am a qualified in calculations, systems, and test engineering, which allows a greater understanding of the big picture when designing and implementing these projects. I also utilized various software to complete daily tasks including ETAP, Microsoft Office, Maximo, SAP, and eSOMS. My proficiency in typing and background in computer programming allows timely and efficient manipulation of these applications to ensure a quality product can be produced in the deadlines provided. In 2025, I was promoted to Engineering Supervisor over the Electrical / I&C Analysis group. My team is responsible for reviewing and approving all the supporting analysis related to modifications made to our Virginia fleet of Nuclear Power Stations. We support modifications related to maintaining the existing systems as well as modernization initiatives such as plant license extensions and digital control systems. I obtained my Engineer in Training license in October 2012 and my Professional Engineering license in October 2013. I am honored to carry the title of Professional Engineer and I am excited to apply my knowledge in the continuation of my career.
