Police Lieutenant Colonel, Deputy Chief - Services Bureau I am excited to announce my new assignment as Police Lieutenant Colonel, managing and directing the Services Bureau. In this critical leadership role, my primary focus is to assist the Chief of Police in the administration of the entire department and act in their absence, while directly overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Services Bureau. Key Responsibilities include: - Strategic Leadership: Providing guidance to division commanders and directing four essential police divisions: Communications, Personnel, Technology, and Property & Records, as well as the Office of Professional Standards. - Operational Oversight: Ensuring the timely implementation of all departmental directives, policies, and procedures, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). - Administration & Management: Overseeing budget maintenance, goal attainment, creative problem-solving, and making key decisions on intra-bureau transfers and personnel actions. - Community & Governance: Serving as a primary point of contact for citizen groups, the public, and City Council inquiries regarding police services. - High-Level Investigations: Overseeing major cases and investigations when necessary. As the Division Commander of the Criminal Investigations Division, I am excited to lead a dynamic and dedicated team focused on seeking justice and peace for victims of crimes. The division is comprised of several specialized units, including the Property Crimes Unit, Special Victims Unit, Special Investigations Unit, Crime Analysis Unit, Victim Advocate Unit, Economic Crimes Unit, and Persons Crime Unit, alongside seven task force members. A key component of our operation is the Crime Analysis Unit, which provides crucial data and analytical support to the Patrol Divisions. This data-driven approach enables us to implement evidence-based policing strategies and ensures the strategic deployment of department resources to effectively combat crime and support our community.

The Professional Standards Unit includes department training, internal affairs, and policy accreditation (CALEA).
