Upon completing his legal studies in 1985, Ruud Harinck (1957) began his career at Bennett Jones, a law firm in Calgary, Canada working mostly for clients in the oil and gas industry. Eighteen months later he moved back to the Netherlands and joined the corporate law practice of De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek as a solicitor. Ruud left private practice to become General Counsel at Transavia Airlines. After 5 years working "in house", his interest in the private practice revived and Ruud became manager of the lawyers' team at the Rotterdam office of Ernst & Young, currently known as Holland van Gijzen. In this capacity Ruud introduced the concept "Lease a Lawyer". In March 1997 he founded Voxius, today's leading brand in recruitment for lawyers in permanent and temporary positions in the Netherlands. Ruud sold his shares in Voxius and, among other activities, is presently member of the board of Talisman International Holdings, with head office in The Hague and part of the Respol Group, one of the world's leading integrated energy companies, operating in more than 40 countries worldwide and 27.000 employees.
