Managing Director within the world's largest technical professional association, representing the interests of 150,000 technology professionals across the United States. With a staff of 14, IEEE-USA is the eyes, ears, and voice of technology professionals in the US. In my previous work as Director of Government Relations for IEEE, I have expertise in immigration, STEM education, energy, and technology policy as well as political advocacy and media relations. Having given more than 300 presentations to IEEE groups, technical conferences, and workshops across the United States, Canada, Australia, and India on politics and policy, I am one of IEEE's most sought after public speakers.
Lead five member Government Relations team for $480 million global professional society. Serve as Staff Liaison to the IEEE-USA Board of Directors and Staff Lead for Nominations and Appointments Committee. Spoke to over 270 local, state, national and international groups about IEEE's public policy efforts as one of the associations most accomplished public speakers. Founding member and Co-Chair of the Campaign for Science, a collaborative project involving 13 engineering and scientific association focused on generating public and political support for basic research. Co-Chair of the Science, Engineering and Technology Congressional Visits Day (SET CVD) since 2017. This annual event brings together over a dozen STEM organizations on Capitol Hill to educate Congress about the value of basic and applied research.
Assisted adoptive families navigate the international adoption process and represented adoption agency at adoption fairs in DC area.
Represented the private recycling industry on Capitol Hill & in 50 states. Tripled size of Political Action Committee and supervised political giving strategies. Developed & implemented policy initiatives pertaining to transportation policy. Drafted policy statements, lobbying materials, media articles and fundraising materials. Increased number of active grassroots volunteers by 400% in two years.
