Bournemouth, England, United Kingdom
Born in East London I am a landscape/street photographer/artist/musician now based in the south of England. I studied City & Guilds photography and Art at Waltham Forest College, London and Fda Professional Photography at what was the Arts Institute Bournemouth now the Arts University. I lectured in photography and IT at Bournemouth & Poole College and taught photography for Bournemouth Adult Learning. I have exhibited in several exhibitions and published 'Jurassic Coast' a book of Black & White images along the coast from Swanage to Exmouth. I teach workshops and one to one tuition sessions in and around the local area. My images are a result of a close relationship with urban and rural environments. Each project is the result of exploring and absorbing the locations I have visited and an attempt to capture the essence of place. I work to commissioned briefs. My clients will range from heritage, conservation and environmental groups, to publishers and authors needing images for illustration and/or publications. I have recently exhibited a new series of images from the JurassicCoast series titled "Nothing Lasts Forever" which was exhibited for nine weeks at the Atrium Gallery in the Abbey Life Building Bournemouth 2013. I am also working on a series of black and white street images titled "Being Human" which I hope to collate into a future publication. A selection of images from each series can be seen on my website russelldawson.com
