    EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Zimbabwe In 1980, as a young graduate engineer, the first employment position was spent working for a civil contractor in Zimbabwe. The next 9 years were utilised gaining experience with a structural consultant working on various building projects, throughout Zimbabwe. This included opening and running the Mutare office for 3 years as an associate of the partnership. UK ~ Zaire ~ Ghana In 1990, moved to the UK to join a multi disciplinary mining consultancy whose core business was on the copper mines of Zambia, ZCCM. After working as a structural engineer in the civil department for several years, moved onto site to spend 10 months as assistant resident engineer on a design & build contract on a copper mine in Likasi, Zaire. This was immediately followed by a 6 month tour of duty as assistant resident engineer on a design & build water pipeline project for a gold mine in Obuasi, Ghana. Zimbabwe Returned to Zimbabwe in 1994 to join a multi discipline consultancy as a structural associate, with projects principally in the building industry. Married in June 1999. UK Returned to the UK at the end of 2000 to join a consultancy involved in BT telecoms upgrades to 3G. Became the engineer in charge of all structural design commissions in the Maidstone office. Oman Moved to Muscat, Oman in 2002, joining the grade 1 contractor Carillion Alawi as a design manager. 13 years of experience has been gained on several prestigious contracts around Oman, including an air force base, 3 hotels, 2 shopping malls with multi storey car parks, an opera house with associated galleria and car park, international airport facilities including the control tower and a national convention centre.

    Snr. Design Manager on the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre for OMRAN [85 million OMR] Conventional construction project of the 24,000m2 exhibition hall with attached concourse, five three storey car parks, an energy centre and 7 ancillary buildings. This project required a high degree of interaction with the design consultant and co-ordination with sub-contractors in order to develop constructible solutions. Intimately involved in managing the modelling, design, fabrication and erection of the 2600 tons of structural steel required in the 80m span roof trusses to the exhibition hall. Snr. Design Manager on the Muscat International Airport MC2 for PACA [90 million OMR] This Design & build project involved the delivery of the new air traffic control tower along with 10 other operational buildings. In particular, responsible for the innovative design, construction & installation of the iconic façade to the tower. Design lead intimately involved in the R&D of the faceted enamel cladding panels manufactured in South Africa. The production of these had to be co-ordinated with the design development and manufacture of the 3 dimensionally adjustable aluminium fixing brackets manufactured in Holland. These elements had to be integrated into the modelling, design, fabrication & installation of the structural steel support system with an inch perfect connection to the concrete tower core. Snr.
