About

Growing up in the Rocky Mountains, I was raised with a distinct point-of-view that balances a curiosity for the unknown with the grit required to find out what lies over the horizon. Much of my early work reflects that contrast, exploring the relationship between the beauty of Mother Nature and the individuals who push themselves within her most extreme environments. I cut his teeth freelancing on documentary and branded projects with Redbull Media House, Powder Magazine, Newschoolers, and the X Games. I hold an MFA in producing from The AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles. After film school, while serving as a development executive at Gravel, I produced a slate of films with 1993, including; the indie-thriller – "The Line" starring Alex Wolff and Halle Bailey, the Paramount comedy – "Sweet Dreams" starring Johnny Knoxville and Mo Amer, and David Mamet's – "Heny Johnson" starring Shia LaBeouf, Chris Bauer, Evan Jonigkeit, and Dominic Hoffman. After breaking out on my own, my producing credits have gone on to include the 2026 SXSW breakout, "Brian" starring Ben Wang, Randall Park, Natalie Morales, and William H. Macy. When I'm not working on films, I'm either producing commercials and music videos, serving coffee with my friends at Brötli in Hollywood, or running full-tilt toward the mountains I once called home. alexanderirudolph.com

GRAVEL is a production company in Los Angeles, spearheaded by Jay Carson (The Morning Show, House of Cards), a political operative and government official turned writer/producer, and Lije Sarki (The Peanut Butter Falcon), a skateboarder turned filmmaker from the Midwest. Our mission is to tell the bold and complex stories that audiences crave but Hollywood is often too timid to make. It is my job to identify IP, establish network relationships across the industry, and foster original concepts through the lens of the company while maintaining an avid commitment to understanding the current cultural climate, global market trends, and competitive content. I support producer, Lije Sarki (The Peanut Butter Falcon) on film, television, and documentary projects from inception to release. My primary roles include reading scripts, communicating with writers, developing story and providing notes, tracking IP for production and development consideration, evaluating pitches, and making recommendations to Lije based on concepts and IP that motivate our core values. As a company, we are on a mission to develop, create, and discover unique and meaningful stories with new and diverse filmmakers. We want to collaborate with and amplify the voices of a new generation. We seek out projects that tickle your heart and smack you in the face. Let’s never forget that classic sense of nostalgia for going to the movies.

  • Team Member/ Ambassador at Alpine Initiatives
    Feb 2015 - Aug 2018 · 3 yrs 7 mos

Being a part of the Alpine Initiatives team, and being a part of this family has been one of the great pleasures of my life. The people, the projects, the mission, and the sincere hope to do some good, truly makes Alpine Initiatives what it is... because it’s not about doing less. It’s about doing more. We could all do a little more. Alpine Initiatives connects people and mountains by fostering authentic experiences that pull you from the familiar to the untamed and nourish the body and mind. We build huts, high in the mountains, which celebrate the journey by offering a refuge for the human spirit to truly rest. We guide backcountry trips which afford a chance to unplug and connect with the natural world. And we gather every year to celebrate JP – his genius, humble creativity, kind spirit and desire to always do more.
