Looking for work. I'm very eager to work for a company that wants to help the world become greener. With my knowledge in microbiology (bio-refinery), and a major in plant biology I hope to be able to assist in R&D. During my internships I've looked at the soil microbiome with the question, "Can we induce a shift in the microbiome to improve the ecology restoration efficiency?" Although the experiments were only a pilot, the technique I helped develop showed some promise. After returning home from this internship in Australia I joined the Radboud to aid them in research against heat stress in Solanum Lycopersicum. Here I aimed to answer a small question of the whole, which I did by helping with fine-mapping genes using the CRISPR-Cas system.
During this internship, I was part of the research team led by Ivo Rieu and Martijn Jansen. I was tasked to further fine-map a heat stress-related QTL by means of creating a vector containing CRISPR-Cas12 (and if I had more time CRISPR-Cas9 too).
