    For almost 13 years I worked at Europe's leading grants consultancy called PNO Consultants. The company started in 1984, has about 300 employees and offices across Europe. I focussed specifically on European innovation grants (FP6, FP7 and H2020) in a variety of technology domains. My specialties were: ICT, security, health, transport, environmental sustainability (also through specialist-programmes like NER300, EEPR, LIFE etc.).     I was also an elected member of the regional parliament of Limburg between 2007 and 2015 (I did not stand for re-election in 2015). Limburg is the southern-most province of the Netherlands. Capital of Limburg is the city of Maastricht. My party is the Dutch left-of-centre Social-Democratic party (PvdA). My focus areas as politician were: economic affairs & finance. Between 2007-2011 I also acted as vice-Chair of the political group in the regional parliament. In 2013 I became a member of the national party committee responsible for writing the party's election manifesto for the European Parliament elections 2014.
