Eugene, Oregon, United States
I teach and research in the fields of modern Chinese and Russian literatures at the University of Oregon. I have skills in academic writing, humanities research, foreign languages, public speaking, teaching, and mentoring. I try to extend my knowledge of languages, pedagogy, and mentoring to reach out to disadvantaged communities, in particular minority students and those from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds. As a university professor I've had ample opportunity to counsel and mentor students going through various challenges, and I hope to use that experience as a springboard to educate myself on issues of mental health, well being, and self-fulfillment. With my expertise in multiple languages, literatures, and cultures, I am also interested in projects that require cross-cultural understanding, sensitivity, and critical analysis.
I was an An Wang Postdoctoral Fellow at the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard University.
