Throughout my career I have moved up through positions including: business technology consultant, technology support and repair, customer relations, store management, business development manager. My drive for efficiency and the human experience has fueled my passion in urban design. I love connecting with people and coming up with visions of the future. From a young age, I enjoyed games like SimCity, planning and creating visionary iconic cities. I see close connections between cities and technology in both a social and technical level. In an increasingly technological age, I feel a need to maintain a focus on the core human experience in how we design cities. PLACE Initiative is focused on the role that place plays in climate change and equity. This group builds upon years of collaboration, ideation, and action from a diverse cross-section of place-focused professionals. From Urban Planners, to government policy makers and academic researchers. We connect people and ideas to plan and make positive change on the future of human migration. Through PLACE Initiative I have applied my human migration methodology that me and my research partner, Isaac Gendler developed as part of a project that was in partnership with ASAP and NYSERDA. Expanding it to other jurisdictions across the US as well as integrating the ideas and findings into the Receiver Places projects and the resulting guides that have been developed and are being constantly updated. In September of 2022 I became one of the Acting Board of Directors helping to shape the future of PLACE Initiative and expand our efforts. I have managed and run the online portions of our hybrid events including the Urban Thinkers Campus which took place both online and in person in Washington DC over two full days. Facilitating Breakout rooms and discussions by creating and managing digital engagement and sharing spaces to capture the collaboration to help get feedback that informs PLACE initiative's projects. Moving forward we are engaging with cities and regions that through our analysis we determine as major receiver regions to help them prepare and adapt for the advent of climate and disaster induced human migration.
