HR Strategy • Support the development and implementation of the People Strategy to drive achievement of the business strategy. • Partner with Leadership to support the embedding of MML’s Values and the desired culture. Business Partnering • Work with leadership to build morale and increase productivity and employee retention. • Partner People Managers • Analyse people trends and metrics • Partner with Centers of Expertise (COE’s). Line Manager Capability Building • Deliver HR roadshows to build line manager capability in owning and the people quadrant. • Embed the HR operating model and drive leadership understanding thereof • Ensure business awareness of HR Governance. Talent Acquisition • Lead the recruitment for all leadership vacancies • Ensure Talent Acquisition understands the succession plans in place for key talent. • Ensure the Talent Acquisition team has the correct set of capabilities, knowledge, and skills to support the business • Monitor the delivery of Talent Acquisition specialists. Learning & Development • Collaborate with the business to deliver L&D plans. • Conduct L&D needs analysis annually and review regularly with people managers • Facilitate agreed L&D initiatives • Oversee the reporting on legislative skills development requirements. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion • Ensure that company’s EE policy and plan is adhered to. • Support independent 3rd party with the Section 19 Analysis. Ensure completion of the EE Plan. • Annual reporting of progress against EE targets to Exco & EE committee. • Position BBBEE as a strategic priority, Employee Relations • Partner with managers to prevent ER issues. • Manage ER issues - conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary processes. Talent Management • Support the end-to-end talent reviews. • Ensure succession plans are in place. • Support leadership with strategies to build capabilities with internal talent or to source external pipeline talent. • Support line managers with performance management.
Talent Acquisition • Lead the recruitment processes for all leadership vacancies for the Middle East and Africa market (MEA) with a focus on Director, Vice President (VP) and Senior Vice President (SVP) roles. • Partner with the HRBP community to understand the succession plans in place for all Director, VP and SVP roles across the Middle East & Africa markets • Manage a team of Talent Acquisition specialists that support the MEA market • Ensure the Talent Acquisition team has the correct set of capabilities, knowledge, and skills to support all lines of businesses in MEA • Monitor the delivery of Talent Acquisition specialists to ensure capacity is spread appropriately across the team and that internal SLAs are met • Lead Diversity and Inclusion initiatives from a recruitment perspective for the MEA market • Lead employer branding projects for the MEA market • Manage all 3rd party vendors and ensure robust SLAs are in place to deliver Talent Acquisition needs for the MEA market Learning & Development • Collaborate and work with the HRBP’s to deliver learning & development plans as well as programmes as per annual Talent Plan. • Conduct people planning, learning and development needs analysis annually and review regularly with the HRBP’s, respective line management and the executive team. • Facilitate and organise agreed learning and development initiatives. Line Manager Capability Building • Support the delivery of HR Roadshows to build the leadership team and line manager capability in owning and the people quadrant. • Support the embedding of Pearson’s HR Operating model and driving leadership understanding of the model. • Ensure business awareness and education of HR Governance. • Continuous Line Manager training on Recruitment process (Applicant Tracking System, Interview capabilities etc).
