As a lead engineer, I collaborate with high-profile clients to create engineering solutions that meet a variety of business needs while remaining delightful and accessible to a variety of users. Responsibilities include: - Complete project and feature planning and execution from start to finish, including but not limited to: - Functional requirements gathering and discovery - Front-end (and limited full-stack) development using React, PHP, Next.js, HTML/CSS, etc., with a focus on building editorial tools in the WordPress Block Editor that serve a diverse set of user needs. - Leading design, interaction, and animation workshopping with clients - Code review, deployments via GitLab, as well as ticket delegation and prioritization across a variety of projects. - Mentoring and knowledge-sharing with peers and more junior engineers - Contributing to internal initiatives through feature planning and evangelizing of process improvements - Auditing feature requests for accessibility requirements as they relate to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, but also as they relate to empathetic common sense. Day-to-day responsibilities include: - Management and development of internal products that facilitate website development - Authoring of technical specifications, design documents, and knowledge base articles. - Dictating the technical direction of all front-end projects - Consulting on and developing highly technical components of web projects, such as applications, tightly coupled relational data, etc. - Reviewing front-end code and mentoring other developers on the team. - Acting as a point-of-contact for high-visibility projects while leading supporting team members.
