Experience

  • Artist & Designer at Utopic Dystopic Worlds
    Jul 2012 - Present · 14 yrs

As a multidisciplinary artist with experience exhibiting and working across Europe, I bring a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to my teaching. My focus on exploring utopias and dystopias through the use of storytelling and sarcasm offers students a unique perspective on the art-making process. My experience with mixed media digital pieces and collages, as well as my interest in the effect of fashion trends on people, provides a diverse range of techniques and themes for students to explore. In my teaching, Rose takes a personalised approach, considering each student's level, previous experience, and personal goals. My classes incorporate a mix of styles and media, including stenciling, mobile making, paper superhero making, and drawing basics, all inspired by my practice. I also utilises colorful slides, audio, and examples relating to the student's hobbies in my language lessons. Furthermore, my experience exhibiting her work in various cultural contexts, including a multicultural library in Athens and at a yoga and Feldenkrais art event, offers students valuable insights into how to showcase their own work. My current focus on exploring the Shoa through her artwork highlights the power of art to confront difficult topics and inspire hope and joy in viewers. Overall, my passion for art and dedication to teaching make me a valuable mentor for any student looking to develop their skills and express themselves creatively.

  • Illustrator at Athens Comic Con
    Apr 2014 - Present · 12 yrs 3 mos

As a regular attendee of Athens Comic Con, I have gained a wealth of knowledge on the latest artwork, animation, and industry trends, which I can pass on to my future students. Through networking and building relationships with both established and up-and-coming artists, I have learned about the ins and outs of Marvel, commissions, traditional and digital work, cosplay, and institutions, recruiters, and funders for concept artists, comic artists, and illustrators. By sharing this knowledge with my students, I can help them stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and equip them with the skills and insights necessary to succeed as artists and illustrators. Whether it's learning how to navigate the competitive world of commissions or how to effectively market oneself on social media, I am committed to providing my students with the tools they need to thrive in the field of illustration.

  • Artist at Service Civil International (SCI)
    Mar 2022 - Mar 2022 · 1 mo

As a group leader for the RAP (Rhythm and Power) workcamp, I gained valuable experience in leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving. I partook in an initial exchange early in the project in Italy with all national group leaders ( France, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Greece) and met with the group of young women I was leading to learn about them, notify them of project remits and rid of any stage fear. These skills are essential for any artist or creative individual who wants to work on projects with a team. I was able to develop my confidence and expand my knowledge of social inclusion, diversity, and self-expression through music. I discovered through the mishap of losing my bag that working with locals, keep a positive and proactive attitude and act a mere 5% more confident than you usually would can boost moral for the whole team and help the unit bond together in a better fashion. I aim to bring this experience and knowledge to my future students, helping them to develop their own leadership skills, increase their confidence, and learn how to work effectively in a team. I can also teach them about the power of self-expression through music and other creative outlets, and how it can be used as a tool for personal growth and social change. Additionally, my experience in Italy exposed me to different cultures and alternative DIY and art markets, which can help my students to broaden their perspective and gain new inspiration for their own creative projects.

  • Life Coach at Self-employed
    Jan 2022 - Jan 2022 · 1 mo

In Alissa Nobriga's Confidence and Clients Bootcamp, which lasted 5 days, I gained valuable skills on how to attract clients, ask insightful questions, and manage both people and financial issues. This knowledge was not only applicable in my professional life but also in my personal growth and development. During my recent trip to Rome, where I organized activities for young adults in SCI Italia, I found that the skills I learned in the bootcamp were extremely useful. I discovered how to confidently approach potential clients and develop meaningful connections with them. Moreover, the bootcamp helped me recognize the obstacles that young people, particularly women, often face when trying to establish themselves in their careers and how to overcome systemic racism and marginlisation. This allowed me to better support and guide the young adults I worked with in Rome, helping them overcome their own challenges and reach their goals.
