Ronce Almond is Managing Director, Head of International Government Affairs, at American Airlines. Based in Washington, D.C., he leads the airline's advocacy on policy and legal priorities in international affairs. He regularly represents the company before U.S. and foreign government authorities, international institutions, and trade associations. Prior to joining American, Ronce was Senior Counsel at the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee. As the top Democratic staffer on the Subcommittee on Aviation, he led historic legislation and oversight to address challenges facing U.S. aviation and global aerospace industry. This includes landmark bipartisan bills on the pandemic response, aviation safety reform, infrastructure, workforce development, drones, advanced air mobility, sustainability, national airspace modernization, transportation security, consumer protection, and technology innovation. He also managed Senate confirmation of presidential nominees to lead the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Security Administration and National Transportation Safety Board. Before serving on Capitol Hill, Ronce was a partner and vice president at a law and consulting firm specializing in aerospace, transportation, and international aviation. He has led technical assistance projects across the globe, advising government authorities and operators on achieving compliance with international standards and best practices in aviation governance. He is a board member of the National Aeronautics Association and the Aero Club of Washington and serves on international affairs councils at Airlines for America and the International Air Transport Association. In addition to serving on the Editorial board of the Air & Space Lawyer, a publication of the American Bar Association, he has taught at Georgetown University Law School. His written work has been published prominent journals and law reviews at Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Virginia, and Tufts, among others. Ronce holds a Juris Doctor, cum laude, and Master of Arts (Political Science) from Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts (History), cum laude, from George Washington University. He is also an alum of the Woodrow Wilson Foreign Policy Fellowship Program.
