Currently Project leader, ambassador for the refugee centre De Molenwiek in Gouda to our wonderful city Gouda. It means mainly to help the residents of the centre to participate actively in Gouda's society in whatever way they can. Be it a paid job or doing voluntary work, sports or help with events in the town and of course, rule number one, also get language lessons and learn Dutch a.s.a.p. Before that I was Information & communications manager, experienced in the chemical industry. From 2007 on I became an independent researcher, team- and event manager. Always a real people's person, enjoying to work with people from many countries, cultures and continents at corporate, personal and (local) governmental levels. Reliable, enthousiastic with a personal touch. De informatieman worked as a project leader in miscellaneous projects. Coming from the chemical Industry, I made a career change in 2013 when I became city manager in cheese town Gouda, part of a great team of entrepeneurs and the city council. This period lasted until 2019. In this period Gouda won the prestigeous title Beste Binnenstad 2015-2017, became Beste Evenementenstad and won many other titles, due to the enthousiastic collaborations that are symbolic for Gouda and the Gouwenaars. In 2019 I was asked to become two project leaders for Gouda750 anniversary project, when the cheese capital celebrated its 750th anniversary of becoming an official city. We had a great festive period from 2019 to 2023 organised by people in Gouda for people in Gouda and everybody who felt involved with our great town. Gouda750 brought the town alive again after the disruptive covid-19 period. In June 2023 Gouda750 was completed with replacing the Gouda Icons, the Dutch cheese farmer statues back into town. A touristic tour can be done in a walking or biking tour. Since 2023 I work for municipality of Gouda and COA, the organization that manages the procedures and housing for newcomers, refugees, started a unique project. A pilot, named 'Iedereen Doet Mee'. Which amongst other things, builds upon the network of both centre management and Gouda750 to enhance possibilities for the new Gouwenaars and get them involved in Gouda's society. This can be by anything from playing football to paid jobs in branches where there is a great lack of staff. Both the refugees and Gouda benefit from this project. One common central factor in all my jobs and both my professional and personal life is about connecting people and trust in good intentions most of the people have. That leads to more understanding,

Gouda, de stad van Hollandsche historie bij uitstek, is in 2022 jarig, dan zijn we 750 jaar een stad. De stad aan de twee rivieren kenmerkt zich al haar hele bestaan als stad van ondernemerszin, samenwerking en tolerantie. Goudse producten hebben in die 750 jaar een wereldnaam opgebouwd, denk aan kaas en stroopwafels (al zijn er nog veel meer bijzondere producten te noemen uit deze mooie stad). GEEF GOUDA DOOR: We vieren het met iedereen die de stad maakt en nog gaat maken, het thema is dan ook Geef Gouda door! Gouda, de leukste stad van de wereld, die hebben we gekregen van de Gouwenaars voor ons. Nu is Hét moment om terug te kijken en vooruit te blikken. Kernteam Gouda750 zijn Marien Brand, Gerrie Tol en Ronald van Rossum met bij de gemeente Gouda Eveline Extra en Monique Neve. Anne-Marie Douma ondersteunt het programmateam. De kracht komt uit die stad waar samenwerking een begrip is. Gouda 750, dat gaan we uitgebreid met elkaar goed vieren!

Dichter, bioloog en tekenaar Leo Vroman (1915-2014), was één van de meest veelzijdige kunstenaars van zijn tijd. Hij vluchtte in WO II uit Nederland en vestigde zich later in Amerika. Daar werd hij bekend als wetenschapper, hier als dichter, uitgegeven door uitgeverij Querido. De Vroman Foundation is een stichting met ANBI-status die het rijke en veelzijdige oeuvre van Leo Vroman en zijn vrouw Tineke levend wil houden met uiteenlopende activiteiten. http://www.vromanfoundation.com/
