One of the major projects I undertook whilst I was a Financial Policies Analyst was Inflation Accounting or Current Costs Accounting. The Financial Statements for the year ended 31st December, 1975 were restated using the concept of current costs methodology. A paper, Inflation Accounting, was pudlished. This exercise, similar to Fair Value Accounting, was put to test 30 years before Fair Value Accounting was codified.
