Supporting the production of a Sri Lanka Strategy for the Development of Statistics (SLSDS)
World Bank funded Statistical Capacity Building programme. A large and complex capacity building project for the development and reform of Statistics of the Bangladesh Statistical System. Supporting the development of national statistical Indicators in the fields of population, education, health, poverty, labour, agriculture, economy, international trade and investment. Developed a training policy and a training plan for Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics. Drafted and published methodological manuals and metadata on key statistics. Developed and published a dissemination policy, data release calendar, confidentiality policy and developed rules to anonymise the micro data. Supporting the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics in developing an integrated informational system utilising standardised statistical software applications for the production and dissemination process, including surveys and metadata system. Enabling and promoting the use of modern technologies and tools for data collection, processing, storage and dissemination of statistical information by providing targeted technical and technological assistance to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.
Through the Myanmar Trade Development Programme supported the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) and the Central Statistical Organisation (CSO) improve the quality and timely dissemination of International Merchandise Trade Statistics (IMTS). Specifically assisted the MoC and the CSO review their existing trade statistics publications and develop a new monthly publication on IMTS and a press release.
