As part of the Digital Innovation team, I manage new and existing products related to the loan origination and servicing system provided by Finova to mortgage lenders and advisers. Key products include: - The customer onboarding, remortgage retention and customer engagement products developed at Burrow and integrating them into adviser's CRM software and for lenders as a direct to customer product. - A set of APIs to allow data transfer and the DIP process from 3rd party broker CRMs and sourcing systems directly to lenders, removing the need for multiple data entry for advisers and facilitating a one-click mortgage application journey. As part of this role I: - Lead workshops with potential users to understand behaviour and improve user experience. - Demonstrate prototypes, define project goals and refine requirements. - Work with an internal development team consisting of five developers and a tech lead supplemented by external developers and testers from a remote based team. We have to work closely with our clients' DPR PM and BA team as well as the lender's internal developers and project support. - Outline testing objectives and creating JSON scripts to test APIs, running JSON scripts in Postman and documenting errors. - Champion the B2B and B2B2C users and optimise journeys by integrating feedback loops into our agile workflow to increase sales and user engagement. I also engage with key internal stakeholders such as our CTO, Directors, Product Principals and Project Managers, to make sure the products align with the wider company strategy, are compatible with planned and existing products and will meet sales expectations.

  • Technical Product Manager at Burrow Mortgages
    Jan 2017 - Jun 2018 · 1 yr 6 mos

I was responsible for creating the logic behind an acquisition and advice platform for an online mortgage broker. This would allow a user to see which lender would be willing to give a mortgage and how much they could borrow. I was given a rough brief of what the CEO wished to create, after which I acted as a project manager and: - Planned the project so that it stayed within our compliance guidelines, creating blueprints and outlining goals and resource requirements to stakeholders - Carried out business analysis, putting together user stories and acceptance criteria documentation - Plan the allocation of resources and carry out sprint planning using JIRA to work to our Agile methodology Once products were created I carried out testing and QA. I took ownership of the products we created, being responsible for maintenance, updating criteria and refining customer flows.

I advise on mortgage transactions from start to finish – from meeting and identifying the client's needs to application, processing and getting their mortgage offered to working with solicitors until the day of completion. I add value by taking ownership and finding solutions by thinking outside of the box to deliver results which meet my client's needs but would not have been achievable by a single simple mortgage structure. I used my business experience and customer service skills to simplify property and protection deals for my clients and make the process an enjoyable and stress free one.
