Hoi, ik ben Roland! Het jongste erelid van de oudste tennisvereniging van Breda :) In mijn werk draag ik graag bij aan het ontwikkelen van de fabrieken van de toekomst. Fabrieken die de spullen maken en verwerken waar wij onze maatschappij op gebouwd hebben (staal, plastics, elektronica, lekker eten, etc.), die financieel gezond zijn en die rekening houden met onze leefomgeving, zodat zij ook toekomstige generaties in hun behoeften kunnen voorzien. Daarbij ben ik erg enthousiast over systeem dynamica, een simulatiemethode waarmee je snel een systeem tot leven kunt wekken, zodat je allerlei scenario's en ontwerpkeuzes kunt testen. Ideaal voor operations- en asset management vraagstukken (mijn expertise), maar bijvoorbeeld ook voor vraagstukken rondom energie, resilience, service operations en de (circulaire) economie. Daarom hebben wij de coöperatieve vereniging SD&Co opgericht, zodat we als simulatiespecialisten de wereld op meerdere vlakken een beetje vooruit kunnen helpen, en doceer ik deze methode jaarlijks aan zo'n 150 supply chain management studenten aan Tilburg University. Als je een keer wilt sparren over simulaties (of het aandurft om een wedstrijdje te tennissen bij BLTV), voel je vrij om me een berichtje te sturen :)
SD&Co is a cooperation of simulation specialists, each with their own domain expertise. Together we work on issues we care about, as partners in decision-making. With collaborative modelling, we aim to increase the understanding of how systems function, how they react to changes, and how their functioning can be improved. Teaching the courses Supply Chain Modelling (understanding and solving supply chain problems with system dynamics) and Smart Asset Management (how to make asset management more digitized, integrated and sustainable) in Tilburg's Supply Chain Management master.
At Tata Steel and BP, we have studied the implementation and ramp-up of Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) based on advanced, data-driven Condition Monitoring (CM) technologies. Twelve case studies and 400+ interviews later, we have a decent understanding of why innovations within organizations typically diffuse slow, rather than fast, and what organizations can do to increase this speed. The Logistics Community Brabant (LCB) aims to enhance logistics innovation power in the province Noord-Brabant by connecting SMEs with fresh brains from TU/e, Tilburg University, NLDA, and BUAS. At LCB, I take the lead in stimulating innovation in the field of Smart Industry.
