Charged with writing preventive maintenance procedures for a first of a kind Demilitarization. Plant, First of kind equipment, blowers, HVAC, pumps, compressors, vessels, piping, valves, tanks, Robotics, conveyors, furnaces, cooling towers, boilers, backup generators. Directing maintenance of the facility.
Charged with directing all aspects of mechanical contract for Tesoro Refinery refurbishment including DDU, GHT, combo, turbine blowers, FCU, crude, poly, wet gas scrubber, and alky. Oversaw all crane lifts, repair of heat exchangers, replacement and setting of new turbine blowers, and replacement of pump valves and vessels. Replaced 90 feet of scrubber stack consisting of platform steel. Guided administrative tasks including budgets, cost projects, schedules, progress reporting, change orders, and RFIs. Optimized refinery’s operations by directing QA / QC functions including weld tracking, hydro testing, and pump rotation checking; conducting visual inspections and completing formal documentation. Commissioned all systems and commenced running process.
Accountable for construction of new wet gas scrubber units for Valero Refinery including mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, controls, and foundations. Oversaw lift plans, set pumps, managed equipment, and resolved engineering issues. Supervised erection of scrubber vessel. Controlled schedules, budgets, progress reporting, and change orders. Ensured high quality operations by ensuring all projects were built to specifications including weld tracking, hydro testing, and pump rotation checks. Conducted visual inspections and completed documentation. Managed all subcontractors. Strengthened communications between owners and field personnel by effectively interpreting contract conditions and work scopes and anticipating / resolving issues and concerns.
