Creating novel Blockchain course for Gies College of Business students with Professor Wencui Han Funded by UIUC Blockchain Analytics grant
• Core focus of this research is to engineer an adversarial black-box attack on Cisco Joy, a supervised ML classifier that leverages unencrypted network flow metadata (ie. TLS extensions, cipher-suites, DNS, HTTP data, etc.) to identify malicious network traffic flows. The attack would degrade the model's ability to identify malicious traffic. • Primary objective is to evaluate the adversarial robustness of Cisco Joy as numerous companies rely on it for network security. • Technologies: Python, AWS Sagemaker, S3, EC2, Linux Advisor: Prof. Bo Li
• Containerized entire stack using Docker. Designed inter-communication architecture for Checkbook micro-services. • Implemented Dockerfile and Docker-Compose to spin up Infrastructure API, Web API, Frontend App, NGINX reverse proxy, PostgreSQL database, and Redis cache containers with a single command. (Used for local developer setup) • This significantly boosted productivity by reducing developer on-boarding time from 2 weeks to 2 minutes. • Helped reach over $9 billion in annual payment processing volume, increasing transactions 67.4% resulting in a 30.5% revenue increase QoQ. Received FTE return offer as well. • Recruited and helped build out engineering team, leading a team of 4 interns and on-boarding new FTE engs.
XY ventures is launching a $30M seed fund in Stockholm, Sweden - the second most unicorn dense area in the world - to fund high potential software startups targeting digital disruption opportunities for our network of 20 international corporations. We leverage deal flow from our local angel network & venture partners and follow up investments in accelerator graduates from MIT, Y-Combinator, Founder Institute, Singularity University, among others, which has previously helped investor clients to generate 10x in returns.
• Managed day-to-day load testing operations, ensuring infrastructure is scaled and ready for large premieres (ie. House of Dragon). • Performed analyses of API ramp rates on Grafana to maximize our target load. • Communicated results with key stakeholders including QA, Engineering, etc. • Functioned as a key source of truth for load test information to the entire DTC org. • Identified and saved millions of dollars in AWS cloud costs, cutting costs for RDS, EC2, Cloudtrail, and more.
