Assigned to work as a Night Offshore Drilling Supervisor on a jack up drilling rig in the UK sector of the North Sea. . The role and duties included;- • Planning and supervising of all aspects of offshore drilling and completion activities and ensuring the operations are carried out in a safe manner as per the drilling programme. • Champion HSE policies and procedures of organisation • Managing and overseeing logistic aspects like equipment, materials and personnel. • Maintaining daily reports and cost data. • Identified operational, cost, risk and schedule issues.
Assigned to work as an offshore drilling engineer on a jack up drilling rig for an UK North Sea HPHT appraisal well. The role and duties included;- Supporting the MONS Drilling Supervisor (DSV) & Night Drilling Supervisor in carrying out their roles and responsibilities Supervising operation events as requested by the DSV. Liaising fully with the onshore Engineering team and ensuring that the engineering behind the Drilling and Well Testing Programme are properly understood offshore. Look-ahead engineering and planning (current and future operations). Designed and implemented a rig system to capture opportunities and document lessons learnt. Preparing and facilitating pre-phase meetings and after action reviews. Monitoring and reporting daily operations and performance. Performing real time engineering calculations as required, e.g. leak-off and integrity tests , Kick tolerances, cement calculations, hydraulics, torque and drag etc., Assisting DSV in ensuring that HPHT wellcontrol guidelines and procedures were followed correctly. Actively participated in rig STOP audit safety system. Experience in HPHT fluids, HPHT cementing operations, HPHT well control, running heavy casing strings (excess of 1 million lbs), Plexus surface wellhead system, HPHT DST operations and well abandonment.
Responsible for all aspects of the DST planning for the HPHT appraisal wells. Role and tasks included; Managing the compilation and input into the DST Basis of Design document Design included the provision to test up to 3 distinct zones separately with TCP, DST tools, DH memory and Metrol surface read out gauges and surface well testing. Performing Tubing Stress Analysis to accurately model and determine the most efficient test string size Identifying and ordering long lead items. Preparing AFE timings and cost figures. Prepared and facilitated a risk assessment meeting Preparing all regulatory compliance & consents
Responsible for preparing the subsea completion design and well operation procedures for UK North Sea development asset wells Responsible for preparing the tubing stress analysis Designing subsea well completion architecture for producer and injector wells. Experience gained in sand screens, gravel packs, completion fluids, production packers, floating seal assemblies, DH gauges, gas lift valves, subsea safety valves, Vetco subsea wellheads and trees. Writing completion operations programme. Liaising with vendors to ensure equipment is prepared in time for load outs Performing risk reviews.
