The nature of the engagements that have been assigned to me is diversified : strategic business planning, m&A related activities, organizing planning & control and risk management, compliance, internal audit, project control or change management. Currently I'm executing the position of finance director at the JAR Group at it’s HQ in Kerkrade, the Netherlands with a part time assigment.
Als CFO van de AFTC Group ben ik vooral sparringpartner van de managing director geweest.Samen waren wij verantwoordelijk voor de besluitvorming op het gebied van onder andere strategie, make -or-buy , budgettering en investeringen. De AFTC Group had ambitieuze doelstellingen om door te groeien naar een omzet van > euro 50 miljoen. Het was mijn taak om bij te dragen aan een verdere professionalisering van de organisatie. Daartoe heb ik een Shared Service Center ingericht voor de efficiënte ondersteuning van de wereldwijde business op het gebied van o.a. Planning & Control, Risk Management, Compliance, Treasury, Tax & Legal, HRM en ICT. Ik droeg zelf zorg voor corporate planning, budgettering, consolidatie management analyses, arbeidsvoorwaarden, beloningsbeleid en het ICT beleid.
The Sotec Group focused on (innovative) machine construction and industrial services. There were approximately 150 employees and the turnover amounted to approximately EUR 20 million. At group level I was responsible within the Sotec Group for all business supporting sub-processes: accounting, controlling, tax & legal, business planning, treasury, risk management, reporting and HR. I was also a member of the management team of the Group and sparring partner for the DGA. During 2013 and 2014, I also temporarily fulfilled the role of CEO of the Group's Industrial Service activities. My main challenge was realizing the transformation to a customer-oriented / project-oriented organization. This change process has been successfully completed.
In my role as director, I have been responsible for the Assurance practice of the Partnership of Accountants and Tax Consultants. My objectives included: • The extension of the Assurance practice to a high-quality part of the partnership that would be compliant with professional regulations • And at the same time accomplishment of a profitability improvement of the assurance services. The Assurance practice included about 15 professionals ranging from starting assistant to experienced chartered accountants. As a director, I was also personally responsible for the relationship management and technical side (external auditor) of the more extensive audit assignments of the partnership.
