Responsible for developing, monitoring and maintaining the safety, environmental and quality systems in the pilot plant. Responsible for alignment of the pilot plant systems with the governmental, Birghtlands Chemelot Campus and Company requirements. Also responsible for handling day-to-day safety, health, regulatory and quality affairs. - Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, codes and regulations on safety, environment and health, including the company’s environmental and user permits, and ARBO. Maintains contacts with relevant government bodies and agencies, Brightlands Chemelot Campus HSE department and other stakeholders. - “Preventie medewerker” (ARBO): execute actions in line with Dutch ARBO (labor laws), perform RIE (Risk Inventory and Evaluation) and overlook implementation of RIE actions - Develops, maintains and overlooks implementation of safety and quality procedures and makes sure that all operations of the pilot plant are covered by professional, pragmatic and high-standard procedures. Key is to balance (strict) limitations, craftsmanship and degrees of freedom to operate. - Organizes and overlooks training of the pilot plant staff. - Develops, maintains and overlooks behavioral safety in the pilot plant - Organizes and chairs risk studies, for example HAZOPs, PHR etc - Organizes regular audits to inspect operations and documentation, as well as follow-up to incidents and accidents. - Heads up the pilot plant Safety Coordination Team; organizes regular meetings with this teams to discuss ongoing safety topics, safety assessments of projects and systems, safety policies and emergency trainings. - Communicator: Informs the company’s management about relevant safety information and provides advice on how to improve safety and quality systems in the company, Provides and articulates information regarding safety issues within the organization.
