About

Dr. Rocky Tung is a seasoned professional with extensive experience leading public policy research and implementation functions (e.g. family office, web3, sustainable finance) across private and public sector organisations. A frequent speaker at international conferences, he has had speaking engagements in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto, Vancouver, Frankfurt, The Hague, London, Paris, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Manila, Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo, Abu Dhabi, Baku, Dubai, and Casablanca. Over the past 15 years, he has been featured in interviews with prominent media outlets, including CNBC, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, SCMP, China Daily, Shenzhen TV, TVB, L’Agefi, Le Figaro, and more. With nearly two decades of experience, Rocky specialises in regulatory and policy research, macroeconomic and strategy analysis, and other management functions. In his current role, his work focuses on regulatory developments, green and sustainable finance, FinTech, and asset and wealth management. Before focusing on financial market policies, his research centred around international trade, labour market dynamics, as well as the macroeconomic environment in China and globally. He works closely with senior government officials, top business leaders, regulators, law enforcement agencies, standard setters, and academics across APAC markets, earning their trust and building strong relationships. Rocky holds a doctoral degree from Northeastern University in Boston, where his research focused on technology adoption in multinational conglomerates in Hong Kong. He is a Fellow of CPA Australia and has a master’s and bachelor’s degrees in economics from the University of Hong Kong and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Rocky is active outside of the office. He was the Convenor of ICAC's Media Publicity and Community Research Sub-Committee and is a director of the Hong Kong Customs & Excise Department YES Programme. He is also an avid marathon runner.
