Experience

  • Principal Scientist Analytical Development at Galapagos

  • Leonardo da Vinci Internship Student at Kymab Ltd

As intern at Kymab I performed site directed mutagenesis of monoclonal antibodies and antigens for benchmark purposes.

  • Postdoctoral Researcher at Sanquin

    - Member of Target-to-B! consortium: characterization of variable domain glycosylation of auto-antibodies in autoimmune disease - Support in molecular biology tasks for the production of BCR- and antibody-expressing vectors

  • Scientist II at Charles River Laboratories

  • Senior Scientist Analytical Development at Galapagos

  • PHD Student at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam)

    - Project 1: Study of alternative splicing as novel molecular mechanism for chemotherapy resistance in (B and T cell-) Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia patients. Here I implemented a whole genome RNA-seq methodology and evaluated reliable analysis pipelines for the detection of splice variants in collaboration with experts in bioinformatics. - Project 2: Testing of spliceosome modulators - both in vitro and in vivo (Article 9 certificate) - as novel therapeutic agents in mesothelioma and pancreatic cancer models. - Processing of patient-derived PBMCs in ISO15189-accredited laboratories for diagnostic purposes: evaluation of surface marker expression by multi-color flow cytometry, nucleic acid extraction and analysis by qPCR.

  • Research Associate at Kymab Ltd

As member of the Drug Discovery Team I was involved in the screening and characterization of humanized antibodies for therapeutic applications. My main task as molecular biologist was to produce and trasfect vectors for the expression and purification of monoclonal antibodies and antigens via recombinant DNA techniques.
