Energy Systems Engineer with a demonstrated professional work experience in multi-disciplinary teams in Engineering Design & Development, System Engineering, EPC in the domains of: • Energy technology, • PV Systems, Inverters and Power Electronics, • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), • Electrical Power Systems. MSc Energy Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome. PE License to practice engineering (Sr. Industrial Engineer) at Sapienza University of Rome.
Cross-functional role within the engineering department with tasks and responsibilities on: • Lead the Electrical Technical Specialists team (3-5 FTE Electrical Engineers) for power systems studies and electrical safety studies for Battery Energy Storage Systems and Distribution Transformers connected to MV networks. • Development of BESS technical solutions in collaboration with other departments (Projects, R&D, Business Development). • Review on technical requirements, BESS designs, industry standards and regulations.
Technical responsible for delivering grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects. Main responsibilities include internal and external stakeholders coordination and engineering activities related to: • Basic and detail design of internal disciplines and systems: Site layout & requirements, Electrical system design, IT Network and System control cabinets design. • Technical specifications and integration of subcontracted components and systems: MV switchgear & control gear, Power transformer, Power Conversion System, Battery packs. Civil works requirements and system engineering. • Grid connection codes and power system protections. • Technical functional solutions for project specific requirements. • Technical support for installation, commissioning and start-up. • SAT protocols and system pre-qualification tests.
Technical responsible for delivering power systems solutions for the Oil & Energy Offshore industry. Main responsibilities and tasks include: • Battery chargers panels' and DC UPS systems design: modular 3-Ph Switched-Mode Power Supply battery charger (Ex-de) fully developed in house (Orga R&D). • System design of PV charge controllers panels (Ex-de) and PV modules strings. • Battery Storage Systems (Ex-eb): VRLA Gel and NiCd batteries systems for offshore. • Engineering design of LV electrical distribution, signalling and control panels (Ex-de). • Hybrid power solution based on PV+Wind generation and Battery Storage (containerized solution). • FAT and SAT protocols.
Energy Systems Engineer responsible for the engineering design and development of PhotoVoltaic (PV) systems and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for the Residential and C&I segment: • Grid-tied and Off-grid Solar PV and PV+Battery systems. • Hybrid PV+Battery+diesel genset power supply systems. • Components and systems requirements, technical specifications and procurement. • Li-ion Battery Storage Systems (containerized solutions with recycled EV battery’s cells): mechanical layout, electrical design of battery modules/systems, BMS architecture and integration, battery cells balancing and protections, electrical coupling of inverters and solar charge controllers, electrical engineering calculations. • Development of a modular and portable Li-ion battery pack with integrated power electronics for coupling with solar PV panels. • Support for installation and commissioning. • Monitoring, data analysis and technical troubleshooting.
