Co-led the design and development of Version 2 of our enterprise application, which involved a complete rewrite of the stack from ColdFusion to a modern architecture using React, Node.js (Express/Fastify), and MS SQL Server. Built a modular front-end using React, JavaScript, and Vite, which allowed us to implement reusable UI components and client-side services, helping to streamline the user experience and optimize request lifecycles. Developed a scalable backend with Node.js, leveraging Fastify for high-performance routing and middleware, which significantly improved our API design and service-based architecture. Implemented a clear separation of concerns across the system, organizing it into client, client service, API, server services, and database services, which enhanced maintainability and clarity. Designed and built RESTful APIs integrated with SQL Server, successfully replacing legacy ColdFusion templates and queries with modern async JavaScript data-access layers, thus improving performance and reliability. Collaborated closely with my lead architect/manager to define application schemas, service patterns, and dependency injection, which ensured adherence to modern best practices in the new system and improved overall development efficiency.
