Founder of Epicmeets, a startup developing a human-centered, science-backed methodology for meaningful dialogue at work. Epicmeets helps teams make thoughts visible and shared using metaphor-rich physical tools (Epics), supported by a digital guide and partner-led trainings. The approach transforms meetings and workshops into inclusive, engaging sessions that strengthen dialogue, alignment, and collective commitment, grounded in neuroscience, psychology, and visual communication. Associate Professor in Strategic Management (currently on leave), exploring how the platform and data-based economy, innovation policy, and compliance technologies shape organizations, and how human dialogue in sessions, face-to-face meetings, and workshops can be strengthened through insights from neuroscience, psychology, and visual communication.

I am an Associate Professor of Strategic Management at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management (TUTA) at Aalto University. In my research and teaching, I am equally devoted to two core areas. Firstly, I explore how and why new technologies, particularly digital platforms and large data sets, disrupt traditional business strategies and organizational structures. This includes a deep dive into the evolving dynamics of the platform economy, assessing innovation policy, regulation, platform design and strategy, competitive advantage in the digital era, data monetization, and the broader spectrum of digital transformation. Simultaneously, I am actively researching ways to enhance the productivity and quality of meetings and workshops. My work draws on studies of meetings and facilitation, as well as neuroscience research on how people learn. The goal is to develop tools and approaches that enhance communication and collaboration through visual tools and digital facilitation methods. My research has been published in top-tier journals, such as the Academy of Management Journal, International Journal of Management Reviews, Information Systems Research, Research Policy, Research in the Sociology of Organizations, Technology Innovation Management Review, R&D Management, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and Organization Studies. I teach advanced courses in strategy, platform economy, platform strategy, innovation, digital transformation, and data monetization at the Bachelor, Masters, MBA, EMBA, and doctoral level. I have specialized in flipped classroom and experienced-based learning methods, including the Harvard case teaching method and LEGO® Serious Play® facilitation method.
Responsible for doctoral student program and employment contracts (45 full-time doctoral students). Leading the development of external research project funding practices for the department. Number of received grants grew 200%. Leading a substantial renewal of the doctoral program. Development of a research seminar series and social media engagement. Researcher work environment satisfaction grew considerably by 2019.
I teach strategy in MBA, eMBA, and open programs and custom-made strategy modules for large and mid-size companies and cities. I have been teaching executives in Finland, the US, Tanzania, and Taiwan. I have mentored more than 25 large and mid-size companies and city strategy projects. I have also developed curricula and been a member of the board of studies for 6 years with a focus on improving the quality of MBA, eMBA, and DBA programs.
The National Archives' advisory board supports and develops the archive's activities, takes initiatives, and promotes cooperation in the archive industry. The Ministry of Education and Culture decides on the advisory board's membership and term of office.
