Dawlish, England, United Kingdom
For many years, I worked in banking, mainly in the City of London, but also in Gloucester, where I was a senior analyst. I then worked in different capacities for the National Probation Service and worked as an interviewer in social research. For a number of years in Gloucester, I also taught English to adults, having obtained a teaching qualification after I left full-time banking.. While now retired, I contribute to several local organisations in the small seaside town of Dawlish: I am an active member of Dawlish Water Rotary Club, currently being Chair of their Youth Activities Committee. I am Chair and a trustee of Assist Teignbridge, a small local charity, Chair of the local stamp club, and was until recently Secretary of the Dawlish Twinning Association. I also run a monthly poetry group currently on Zoom. I manage a number of Facebook pages for local organisations, as well as Facebook Groups in connection with my family history. Since last Summer (2020), I've been wild swimming regularly at a local beach, partly as a way of raising funds for Assist Teignbridge and Rotary charities. I'm also encouraging others to take up this activity.
