𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 My parents crossed the border the night I was born, in search of opportunity in the U.S. That decision has shaped much of my life. I’ve spent the years since trying to make the most of it—grateful for their sacrifice, aware of the responsibility, and committed to using that opportunity to build, contribute, and help others do the same. I knew early on that I wanted to be a lawyer (with a brief Jurassic Park–inspired detour into paleontology). I was drawn to the way laws shape systems, the way ideas become institutions, and the way good writing and clear thinking can move things forward in a messy world. My family is full of doctors, so choosing law was both a small act of rebellion and a natural fit. I started my career in Washington, DC, practicing appellate and regulatory law. Working on Supreme Court briefs and complex regulatory cases was exciting, but what I found even more compelling were the businesses behind those cases—the founders solving real problems and the legal questions that came with building something new. That curiosity eventually pulled me in-house as the first lawyer at an early-stage tech company, and I realized quickly that this was the work I loved. Helping builders bring ideas into the world, navigating regulation with creativity instead of fear, and putting real structure around fast-moving teams—that’s where I’ve spent my career since. I’m now General Counsel at Mercury, the company ambitious founders trust with their finances. My focus has been on building and scaling core functions—legal, compliance, and policy—so we can continue reimagining banking and financial services. I believe legal should create real value for a business, not just review contracts and manage risk. And I care deeply about working with smart, creative, low-ego people. Though I chose law, I’ve always had a passion for healthcare and improving the systems that keep us alive and healthy, which I pursue through service on the board of Southern Arizona’s largest community health system. I reside in New Jersey, but Arizona will always be home. If you're building something ambitious or navigating the messy space where innovation and regulation meet, I’d love to connect.
I was the first lawyer at Mercury and have scaled the function to nearly 20 attorneys and legal ops professionals (and growing). Through that time, our team helped Mercury achieve significant growth and scale: from ~250 employees to over 1,000; from sub-$50M annual revenue to over $600M; and to 3 consecutive years of GAAP profitability. We've navigated turbulent economic and regulatory climates, major crises (like the collapse of SVB in March 2023), and the normal challenges of hypergrowth, and are having fun along the way.
Board member for Southern Arizona’s largest community health system. I work with leadership on issues involving governance, risk, compliance, privacy, and system-wide strategy. Currently chairing the Audit, Compliance & Privacy Committee. My work here connects back to my love for Arizona and a long-standing interest in healthcare and the systems that keep communities healthy. Chair, Audit, Compliance, and Privacy Committee (2024 - present) Member, Governance and Compensation Committee (2026 - present)
Built and led litigation, regulatory, and policy functions for a fast-growing tech company focused on connected operations. Joined during a major growth phase and helped scale the company to ~1,500 employees, >$300M in annual revenue, and through a successful IPO (NYSE:IOT). Highlights: • Built Samsara’s policy and government relations function from scratch • Worked closely with regulators, lawmakers, and industry groups on compliance, sustainability, privacy, and transportation issues • Helped guide the company through public-company readiness • Managed litigation and regulatory strategy across a global footprint
Head of legal and operations for an education technology and talent-sourcing platform. Worked across product, compliance, and day-to-day operations in a highly regulated sector. Focus areas: • Assessed legal and business risk for education and recruiting workflows • Built privacy, data security, FERPA, and international compliance processes • Strengthened internal operations and cross-functional alignment
Joined as the first in-house lawyer at an agricultural systems modeling startup, trying to build a "Palantir for agriculture" (~20 employees). Helped scale the company through rapid headcount growth, product launch, and early revenue. Work included: • Built early legal, HR, and finance infrastructure • Supported product development and regulatory strategy • Developed contracts, compliance processes, and risk frameworks • Partnered closely with leadership across strategy and key decisions This was where I first learned how much I enjoy helping builders navigate complexity.
