Designed and executed migration plan to relocate all applications to new environment without impacting patient care. Enabled private cloud services to significantly reduce server provisioning times. Aerospace Parts and Supply Chain Company - Program Manager $12.1M Greenfield data center program to build-out new software defined, remotely managed collocation site. Planned and executed migration of all business applications and virtual servers to new data center. Deployed Private Cloud Services for application development teams. Specialty Outdoor Retailer (Physical and Online) - Program Manager $1.8M Data Center Transformation program. Defined strategic road-map and financial business case for client. Led a strategic multi-year $130M initiative to transform and consolidate HP’s global data center facilities footprint. Migrated over 300 clients safely to next generation data center services, closed 43 legacy facilities, generated $62M in annual savings and pulled through $42M in new product sales for HP. Accountable for managing all aspects of the initiative including a direct staff of 30 and extended team of over 200 project management and engineering resources. Implemented repeatable processes for workload assessment, planning, spend approval, resource management and status reporting. Negotiated partnerships with HP and industry providers that specialize in IT relocation, equipment rental, product resale and recycling services. Worked closely with HP Product and Services divisions to identify opportunities to offset migration expenses. Managed investment budget to enable client migrations and tracked program progress and cost savings to plan.
Utility Computing Services Manager Managed global staff of sixty engineers and two managers responsible for HP’s Utility Computing offering. A pre-curser to Cloud, the “Infrastructure as a Service” utility allowed clients to ramp storage, compute and network capacity on demand. Responsible for day-to-day operations of this 24X7 mission critical environment. Duties included management of onshore technical resources in the data center and off-shore teams in Manila and Bratislava for change, configuration and fault management. Worked as an extension to the client’s account team and personally lead escalations to resolve performance issues that impacted service levels. Solution Architect / Delivery Consultant Responsible for deploying complex managed services to HP customers worldwide. Provided solution design, architecture and technical project management to world-wide R&D and regional teams implementing secure infrastructures, workflow management tools and data center hosting solutions. Co-designed a common Internet infrastructure capable of securely hosting shared customer e-commerce sites. Network Engineer CCIE level expert for Cisco Systems Networking, Monitoring & Management, SNMP, TCP/IP, NFS, NIS, and DNS. Provided network analysis, consulting, and engineering expertise to improve the performance and availability of HP customer’s Intranets.
