Consultant to TransCanada Pipelines. Project coordinator for all Quadrus resources at TCPL. Designed and developed a Java based database comparison tool called the ‘Comparator’ for the Dovetail project. This rule-based tool utilized JDBC to allow any two databases to be easily and quickly compared for data equivalence. Analyzed Sybase stored procedures and extracted business logic necessary to duplicate them in Java objects. Used this business logic to develop Java components to interface between the Dovetail project and legacy systems. Provided quality assurance and testing for the Dovetail system and its related data interfaces.
Development team leader responsible for managing the creation of a next generation Java point of sale (POS) application. This includes directing a development team of designers, architects and developers, gathering specific product requirements, budgeting, hiring staff and mentoring new team additions. Responsible for developing many of the business modules within the application. Some highlights included working on a high-speed fault-tolerant transaction processor and eventually migrating to an Enterprise Java Bean (EJB) framework.
