Robert is the sustainability manager for Osino Resources Corp, a gold exploration and mine development company with a commitment to making a positive difference in Namibia. Robert has been working in the sustainability sector since 2004. Since then, he has mostly assisted companies improve their sustainability performance, which included seven years guiding the multi-national Bidvest Group on its ESG journey. Earlier in his career, he worked in a variety of other sectors, including the steel industry (Iscor, now ArcelorMittal), management consulting (Deloitte), a digital cash internet start-up (DigiCash) and venture capital. Over the years, Robert has also been active in the climate change sector and he has served as a board member of the climate change NGOs, Project 90 by 2030 and Fossil Free SA, the latter of which he helped co-found. In 2009, he published the book, 'Bending the Curve – Your Guide to Climate Change in South Africa', which includes contributions from 20 experts and which details what different sectors of society can do to address the issue. Of particular interest to Robert has been his work in the field of human values and mental frames (a set of tools developed by the Common Cause Foundation and the Public Interest Research Centre) to shift attitudes and behaviours to accelerate positive social and environmental change. In 2009, Robert was made a South African Eco-ambassador, by the government's then-environmental campaign, Indalo Yethu.
