CompTIA Security+ certified cybersecurity professional with a BBA in Computer Information Systems from James Madison University. I specialize in network security, penetration testing, and cloud security, with hands-on experience in tools like Kali Linux, Wireshark, AWS, and Azure. What sets me apart is my ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, a skill I developed over multiple years of teaching and team leadership. I am a detail-oriented professional who holds myself to a high standard of accuracy and accountability in everything I take on. I am actively seeking entry-level roles in IT security, SOC analysis, or cybersecurity where I can contribute from day one.
Jimmy Johns Sandwiches is a nationally recognized chain of stores that prides itself in its efficiency. They operate over 2600 stores in the United States. As I was looking for a summer job, I was impressed with their speed in making hiring decisions when they offered me an interview in less than 24 hours. When I asked the manager during my interview if I could start as soon as the spring semester was over, he understood and granted me the two weeks I needed. I assumed I would be mostly making deliveries that summer but I also gained training in the other areas of the store such as working the register and managing the busy drive-thru. The volume of orders helped me navigate in a quick turn-around environment where communication must be clear. Although I considered staying through the school year, when I saw what my courseload would be like early in the semester I decided to focus exclusively on school work in my Junior year.
The Briar Woods High School Music Program is a highly recognized and awarded Music Program in Virginia, consistently earning blue ribbon awards and superior ratings over its 20 years of operation. When I graduated in 2022, The Band Director himself reached out to me asking if I would teach the percussion section for the next pre-season marching band camp. He knew my work ethic and commitment to teaching that I had shown in years prior. My responsibilities included: — Teaching from 8am to 8pm for two weeks each summer — Motivating students to learn — Maintaining high standards of performance — Creating daily teaching plans to get the music learned as fast as possible — Keeping track of large equipment and maintaining it The Director saw the improvements I was able to make with the students during the first season that he asked me to return the following year even before the first season ended. I was honored when he invited me to come back since he typically didn’t allow recently graduated alumni to return to teach so soon. I was contracted for the next two summers (23-24). During this 3-year period, I successfully: ► Restructured how the percussion section functioned during rehearsals ► Created and nurtured an environment that increased the students morale ► Introduced ideas and adapted more advanced college marching band percussion procedures for the high school level I thoroughly enjoyed my time with all of the students in this program and remain passionate about teaching.
MOD Pizza is a fast-casual pizza restaurant chain with over 450 locations in the US. I initially applied for and landed this job because I had worked at a similar pizza chain before. When I started in 2022, I was initially trained in making pizzas, running the register, ensuring customer satisfaction, and communicating internally with the team. Soon, I was helping to train others in these tasks. Since I planned to return between my Freshman and Sophomore years, MOD retained me as an employee. As a result, I hit the ground running when I returned for the second Summer. I was surprised to discover that on my first shift back, I was slotted for a position that is usually reserved for shift managers. Turns out they decided they would have me manage the single 500-degree brick oven we used to manually cook all the pizzas. That position was critical to ensuring customer satisfaction. MOD rushes were unlike anything I had ever experienced, lines out the door and constant online orders printing. We had to work as a team and be as fast as possible with crystal clear communication. Before my Junior year I decided I would like to work in my college town in subsequent summers. Unfortunately, there were no MOD pizza stores in that area.
