I am problem solver and experimental R&D scientist in designing, fabricating, and optimizing, experimental silicon quantum nano-devices, RF MEMS, thin-film materials, and high-frequency acousto-electronics. I was a part of the SAWtrain consortium, a Marie Sklodowska Curie Action, Initial Training Network, funded under the E.U. Horizon 2020. I am flexible and capable of diving deep into scientific cutting-edge research challenges. I have many skills which are across many disciplines: • CLEANROOM DEVICE FABRICATION: UV Nanoimprint & E-beam lithography, e-beam evaporation, DRIE, thermal oxidation • THIN-FILM MATERIAL DEPOSITION: RF sputtering, sol-gel • NANO-DEVICE DESIGN: COMSOL modeling, prototype process-flow, acousto-electronic transport, SAW delay lines, RF resonators • THIN-FILM ANALYSIS: X-Ray Diffraction, Atomic Force Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Piezo-Force Microscopy, Ellipsometry, silicon, silicon dioxide, ZnO, AlN, near-field infrared optical spectroscopy • ELECTRICAL AND VECTOR NETWORK CHARACTERIZATION: room temperature and 10 K probe station IV measurements, scattering parameters • SOFTWARE COMPETENCIES: COMSOL, Matlab, AutoCAD, Gwyddion, Latex, Origin, Microsoft Office, Python, HTML • PROFESSIONAL CAPABILITIES: presentations, data analysis, supervision, flexibility, international background, research and development I have supervisory experience through mentoring a Master student during his Thesis, tutoring Bachelor level Electromagnetism course exercises, and advising students in a Nanotechnology Device Design course, which challenges students to create and design an innovative new device employing nanotechnology concepts and fabrication methods. The course included prototype fabrication process-flow and business development. I was the president of the SAWtrain student ESR-Board, which organized networking and research retreats for PhD students part of SAWtrain. I volunteered as part of the local chapter AEGEE staff in Aachen, Germany, where we organized activities and networking for international students. I lived in many E.U. countries from a young age following my family in the their research careers and my own higher education (Ireland, The Netherlands, Slovakia, Belgium, Germany) and was also an exchange student in California, U.S.A. I am available for opportunities where I can use my knowledge and learn new skills, and I am happy to discuss possibilities. I can work in the E.U. and I am willing to relocate. Let's connect!
