Developed a unique series of educational workshops designed to support individuals who experience social and developmental difficulties. The workshops were designed to help clients build on their social and conflict resolution skills. A series of workshops were also created to address self-esteem/self-confidence issues. I also deliver community workshops on: Meditation and Mindfulness - This introductory workshop provides participants with an understanding of the fundamentals of meditation and mindfulness. Participants will expand their knowledge and use of various relaxation techniques including progressive muscle relaxation, deep breathing, and meditation. The workshop also details the physiological response of how the body reacts to stress and how best to use their new skills to invite calmness and tranquility. Study Skills and Memorization - This workshop will provide students with the resources to effectively develop their studying and memorization skills. Participants will learn about empirically supported techniques and strategies used to facilitate recall and recognition. Participants will also learn about the importance of other factors that influence recall such as, environment, pronunciation length, mood congruency, passive/active reading, and physical/mental health. Implementing Praxis in Learning - This workshop was developed to help group facilitators understand how to effectively implement adult learning principles in their own group therapy and/or psych-educational workshops. Participants are exposed to a variety of techniques and strategies used to keep clients engaged and actively participating.
