Dr. McGregor has over 35 years experience as a professional consulting engineer in the fields of water supply, wastewater treatment and reuse, infrastructure design, watershed management, erosion control, stream stabilization, and water quality standards. He has successfully planned, designed and constructed major water supply and wastewater treatment systems for private industry, municipalities, state governments and the federal government. Several of these were in contentious environments where the water supply and wastewater treatment needs of one interest group were competing with other interest groups and it was necessary to resolve difficult issues to the satisfaction of multiple interest groups and regulatory agencies. He has special interests in the interfaces between the water supply and energy devlopment industries, particularly as they relate to the sourcing of reliable water supplies for hydraulic fracturing of oil and gas wells in a cooperative mode with the water supply industry. He is also interested sustainable urban designs and urban stormwater green infrastructure and urban stream restorations that provide long term reliable and economical service while complementing the natural environment.
