  • Mechanical Engineer at American Boronite Corporation
    Oct 2018 - Nov 2020 · 2 yrs 2 mos

  • President at Integration Guard Inc.
    Oct 2011 - Oct 2018 · 7 yrs 1 mo

As lead developer and equity partner, I developed the DCV Application. DCV enables sustained integration for CAD/CAM/CAE applications relying only on existing neutral format files (e.g. STEP). Core development work was done in Parasolid (solid modeling kernel), C#, OpenGL (for viewer), and Windows Forms (.NET). The technology relies on nearly automatic recognition of the precise differences between 2 solid models (B-Rep), then using that recognition to redirect associativity and thus achieve sustained integration via neutral format files like STEP. Enabling integration for various CAD/CAM/CAE applications required learning the API for each: SOLIDWORKS, SOLID EDGE, FEMAP, NX. Supporting customers with integration via DCV required supporting them with their CAD systems, thus mastering solid modelling and assembly mating in each of those systems.

I spent a semester as an adjunct professor teaching Introduction to Finite Element Analysis (22.513) to a class of 40+ students for a semester. Final test scores (standardized) for the class were 4% better than the previous year.

  • Partner at Convergence Data Services
    Nov 2003 - Oct 2011 · 8 yrs

Convergence develops software for organizing, validating, retrieving, and repairing product data. The application is written entirely in .NET, making extensive use of T-SQL (Microsoft) or PL-SQL(Oracle), ADO, C#. I was one of three equity partners, lead developer and directly involved in all aspects of the software development. The work has involved a several large migrations, imports, and exports with I2/Explorer, Endeca, and Diesel Point. These migrations all involved: • relationships to organizations, documents, programs, and more • part number collisions (thus requiring cage-codes and other solutions) • high throughput to assure minimal downtime during data migration
