I worked within the Nuclear Technology Projects Department, performing two key functions of lead engineer and project manager in different projects. As lead engineer on a number of projects which fell in at different stages within the project cycle from concept design, to manufacture and testing, training and on site installation deployment. This involved liaising with the client to form and ensure functional and technical specifications were formed accurately and adhered too. One of the key successful projects during this time was leading a number of multi-million pound projects within a strategically important programme of work for the UK energy industry at the time. I was involved in this from concept to conclusion. This involved R&D, prototype development, testing rig design and builds based on OEM design data, testing of equipment, training of operators in use of equipment and progressing to site engineering team lead in the deployment of the technology across four nuclear reactor outages across two sister sites. As project manager for an internal development project to increase our project offering and also a project for a key client in the design and manufacture of a number of large scale plant items to aid the design, manufacture, training and testing of equipment prior to on site installation.
