Robert operates at the intersection of AI, security, and platform scale—particularly where complexity begins to impact customers, revenue, and trust. He works across product, go-to-market, and executive leadership teams to help organizations navigate these challenges as systems evolve. He is a Technology Executive, Board Member, and Retired Lieutenant Colonel with more than 30 years of experience across cybersecurity, research, and national security, spanning public and private sector organizations as well as U.S. state and federal government entities. As Chief Security Officer, Head of Research, and President of Tenable Public Sector, Robert leads security strategy and research for a global cyber risk management company serving more than 40,000 customers. His work spans product, customer engagement, and executive strategy—helping drive revenue growth while strengthening trust at scale. He has led security programs through global regulatory frameworks including FedRAMP, ISO 27001, SOC 2, IRAP, and TISAX, and has played a central role in M&A strategy, due diligence, and integration across multiple acquisitions. Beyond traditional security leadership, Robert works closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to shape product direction, build strategic alliances, and translate emerging risks—particularly in AI-driven environments—into actionable business and technology decisions. He is a frequent speaker and 2x RSA Conference keynote presenter, and serves on advisory boards including ChristianaCare’s IT and Cyber Committee. Robert served nearly 20 years with the 166 Cyber Operations Squadron, leading computer network operations for the Air Force and Intelligence Community, and has been recognized with multiple military honors including the Air Force Achievement Medal, Army Commendation & Achievement Medals, and a Letter of Appreciation from the National Security Agency.

Robert has matured the security program resulting in multiple successful authorizations and assessments to include: FedRAMP, ISO 27001, SOC 2, IRAP, and TISAX. The security and research programs have consistently enabled the business to deliver year-over-year revenue growth. Robert has successfully advocated for continuous security improvements growing the team and budget to drive revenue and innovation while reducing risk. He has been central to M&A activities for 6 acquisitions in the last 4 years for Research and Security, such as leading due diligence and the integration of products and teams. As an Executive Sponsor for key customers, Robert enables the sales team success with best-in-class cybersecurity strategies for enterprise customers. He continually works to establish Tenable as a Thought Leader in Cybersecurity through the company’s blog, white papers, media engagements, and speaking on webinars and at industry conferences, such as the RSA Conference where he’s a 2x Keynote Speaker.
